Mrs. Leubner was born February 9, 1936 in Burke, TX, the daughter of the late Ruby (Jennings) and Clio C. Innerarity. She passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016 at Lufkin Skilled Care.
Mrs. Leubner began school at Burke and then moved to Lufkin and attended school at Central, graduating Salutatorian of the class of 1953. She worked at Murrell's Pharmacy in high school before moving to Houston and working for Prudential. After meeting Roy Leubner on a blind date, they married in 1955, and a year later moved to Lufkin. She worked for the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program of TX A&M Extension Service. She began her career at the USPS in 1973, retiring with 27 years as a Rural Carrier. She was instrumental in getting the "Rudolph" cancellation stamp for the Lufkin Post Office. She also enjoyed helping Santa answer letters and participated in the Christmas parades. Faye and Roy's home was always open to friends or relatives. Faye felt happiest when lending a hand to anyone in need and loved a full house. She was an expert seamstress and could make an outfit from just looking at a picture. She adored spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed family gatherings, traveling, sewing and sitting by a warm fireplace. Mrs. Leubner was a member of First Lutheran Church.
