Services for Dora Mae Haak Hollis, 92, of Lufkin, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2017 at Harmony Hill Baptist Church, with Dr. John W. Green officiating. Interment will follow at Gann Cemetery.
Dora Mae was born September 10, 1924 in North Carolina, the daughter of the late Alma (Knight) and Odus L. Starnes. She passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017, at her residence.
Dora Mae was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, canning, crocheting, cooking, and picking blackberries. She also enjoyed word search puzzles, being...

Dora Mae was born September 10, 1924 in North Carolina, the daughter of the late Alma (Knight) and Odus L. Starnes. She passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017, at her residence.
Dora Mae was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, canning, crocheting, cooking, and picking blackberries. She also enjoyed word search puzzles, being outdoors, and watching the wildlife. She loved visiting with family and friends. Dora Mae was a member of Harmony Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children, Carol Jean Jones and husband Ronald of Spring, Barbara Ann Goins and husband Jimmy of Lufkin, Odus Ralph Haak and wife Jolee of Pollok, Gloria Mae Turner of Montgomery, Robert Lewis Haak and wife Sharon of Spring Branch, Margaret Lea Haak and Kay Haak, both of Dallas; 20 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Watkins of Monroe, North Carolina; and a number of other family members.
In addition to her parents, Dora Mae was preceded in death by her daughter, Betty Abee; husband, Ralph Wesley Haak; 2nd husband, Lenzy Hollis; granddaughter, Wanda Shaw; and sister, Madgeline Henson.
Pallbearers will be Benjamin Goins, Jr., James Goins, Jr., Jason Haak, Jeremy Joseph, Robyn Haak, Dustin Haak, Wes Temple, and Robert Haak II.
Honorary pallbearers will be her remaining grandchildren.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
Services have been placed in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home.
